Richard Posted: 2001-09-30 08:01:22 You can "talk" to your modem and obtain info from it. If you're trying to setup your modem for instance, and it fails, the first thing you should do is talk to the modem. If it responds, then you look elsewhere for the source of the problem. You talk to your modem by sending commands using a program like TERMINAL. You should find termnal under start/programs/accessories/communication. Once terminal starts, you issue commands, and it responds by displaying something on your monitor. Such commands are called AT commands. AT stands for, ATtention, expect a command to follow. |
