Richard Akindele Posted: 2001-08-21 11:45:04 You can do this from your modem properties. Click on Start/Settings/Control Panel right click on the Modems icon click on Open. This opens up the Modem Properties dialog box. under The following modems are set up on this computer:, click on the modem your computer is currently using click on Properties, and this will open another dialog box. at the top, click on the Connection tab click on Advanced under Extra settings, type one of the following: ATM0 to turn the speaker off completely. Note that the last character is a numeric zero. ATL0 to set low speaker volume ATL1 to set low speaker volume, but higher than ATL0 ATL2 to set medium speaker volume ATL3 to set high speaker volume ATM1 to turn speaker on during handshaking and turn speaker off while receiving carrier ATM2 to turn speaker on during handshaking and while receiving carrier ATM3 to turn speaker off during dialing and receiving carrier and turn speaker on during answering
